"Recovery begins when individuals return to their communities."
"Recovery begins when individuals return to their communities."
21 Genesis LLC House was founded with a vision to create more than a place to stay.
The organization was created in response to a growing need for safe, dignified, recovery-supportive housing for individuals rebuilding their lives. We recognized that people transitioning from treatment, behavioral health programs, reentry, homelessness, and other challenging circumstances often need more than temporary shelter—they need an environment that supports stability, dignity, accountability, and forward movement.
From the beginning, our vision has been to create homes that residents can feel proud to live in. Our residences are thoughtfully prepared to provide comfortable, welcoming environments where individuals can focus on recovery, rebuild independence, save toward future goals, and prepare for more permanent housing.
As a healthcare professional, founder Raheil Tarko, BSN, RN has seen firsthand how housing stability, access to resources, health, and long-term well-being are deeply connected. That perspective helped shape 21 Genesis around a person-centered philosophy: meet people with dignity, provide a stable foundation, and create an environment where progress is possible.
Today, 21 Genesis is building relationships throughout Prince George’s County with healthcare organizations, behavioral health and substance use programs, case managers, social workers, reentry programs, community agencies, and other partners who share our commitment to helping individuals move forward.
Genesis means beginning.
For us, 21 Genesis represents the opportunity for a new chapter—a place where individuals can stabilize, rebuild, and begin again.
Our work is guided by three principles:
EDUCATE. EMPOWER. ELEVATE.
And our goal is simple:
Help create the stability today that makes a stronger tomorrow possible.
